Site Access Application in General

• All HKIX participants and FTNS operators MUST apply site access permission for any site works and schedule maintenance to be carried out at HKIX Data Center by giving at least 1 working day notice in advance. Only authorized persons (representatives) of HKIX participants and FTNS operators could make site access request / appointment by sending email to hkix-access@cuhk.edu.hk. Confirmation email will be sent out by HKIX to the applicant when the access permission is granted. All site access requests without prior notice to HKIX will be rejected.

How to Provide / Update Representative List

• HKIX participants and FTNS operators should use this FORM to provide the FULL list of authorized persons for entering the HKIXDataCenter. HKIX will acknowledge request by sending email to the Network Operation Centre (NOC) provided in the form within 3 working days upon receipt of the update request form.

How to apply for HKIX Data Centre Access

1. Only authorized representatives identified in prior writing by HKIX participant and FTNS operator can make request to enter HKIXDataCenter.
2. Applicants MUST provide the following information by sending email to hkix-access@cuhk.edu.hk in their applications:
   1. Company name and PNETS/FTNS license number;
   2. Job description and work order information;
   3. Date and time to apply for entry;
   4. Name and staff ID or first 3 digits of HKID/Passport ID of the visitor(s);
3. At least 1 working day notice must be given in advance in general.
4. At least 3 working days notice must be given in advance if on site technical support at HKIX Data Centre is required or equipment move-in or move-out to/from HKIXDataCenter is involved.
5. Confirmation email will be sent out by HKIX when the access permission is granted.

Data Center Policies in General

• All visitors have to observe and agree to abide by the HKIX Data Center Policy posted in http://www.hkix.net/access-policy.htm.
• A maximum of 3 persons (at least one MUST be representative) may enter HKIX Data Centre at the same time. For security reasons, all visitors will be requested to show his/her STAFF ID and HKID (or Passport) for verification. He/she will be refused to enter the Data Centre if the required credentials cannot be shown.
